Well here I am. New York.
Let's pause with that for a moment...
....
Yep. New York.
My over-planning and research has already served me. At the airport a very friendly, helpful driver offered to take me to my hostel for $97. When I guffawed and repeated the price to him his smile broke and he pointed me across the road, "$45 cabs over the road." I ain't nobody's fool! Yet.
After an almost clinically clean sleeping experience, I woke up at 5:50 am and am now sitting in my PJs at the downstairs cafeteria, eating my egg and ham bagel and drinking a small (ie. normal) sized styrofoam cup of Lipton's (with skim, not soy unfortunately). When I asked the cafe guy if the eggs were powdered he looked at me with disgust and said "Powdered? No way man." Then he proceeded to pull out a milk carton of egg mix and proudly hold it up for me to see.
I've never eaten less egg-flavoured egss in my life but for $1.85 I'm willing to make a few sacrifices.

Yay for having super fun times with eggs, life's little white oval shaped balls of fun!
Word of warning: I went to the cinema with Leigh and saw "the happening" and all i can say is what "happened" to allow this film to "happen", it "happens" to be quite possibly the worst film ever made to the extent that I truly believed that it must have been made that bad on purpose!!
Anyway - Have fun you Nuwyawker and remember, if you have any trouble just say "EY I'M walkin' ere"
No freaking way! Are you in the states! It's like I am stalking you, but you are the one getting closer to me!
Can you please write about what you are doing here and what trouble you are getting into?
Let me know when you are famous so that I can ride your coattails.
Yes, I started planning this trip straight after our first correspondence. I plan on taking over your life, Single White Female style. I'll be shaving my head in preparation soon.
Best of luck to you!
Please keep us up to date and let me know when you are going to be peeking in our windows so that I can tidy up a bit.
What hostel are you staying at? (Definitely understand if you wait to reply until after you check out ;) ) I always stay in the same hostel everytime I go to New York, Hosteling International. Way nicer than I ever expected the first time around. Definitely a better way to go than the expensive hotels that leave you no money in budget for shopping or fine dining.
Yep that's where I stayed.
